It has been an honor to call Ms. Chris Noel, friend. She is both friend to my husband and me, and to the entire group at Rolling Thunder National. Chris not only put her own life on the line in Vietnam while entertaining our boys, she was then, and still is, a true patriot and defender of our flag and our country. Elvis got to know Chris during the filming of Girl Happy," and though he wanted to date her, Chris wasn't into playing any games. As Elvis knew her to be, Chris Noel was a "good" girl" in 1960's Hollywood when decency and morality rarely existed. Chris, perhaps, later regretted that she turned Elvis away.

Chris revealed to me something that Elvis used to do while they were making the film together. His humor never failed him. He would sing her last name softly into her ear: Leon, Leon. Elvis told me the same. He could be a tease, but in truth, Elvis respected Chris and admired her dedication to veterans.

Chris made several movies in Hollywood before deciding to take on a new career which took her to Vietnam, during a raging conflict, where she spent her youth and her days entertaining our brave young men. Chris became a very special part of the Vietnam era, and the men who served while she was there have never forgotten her service or her loyalty to them or to their later causes.

Today, Chris continues her loyalty and service to our Vietnam Veterans in a place they can call "home," a home that Chris built for aging and homeless veterans known as Vetsville Cease Fire House. You can donate to her cause through the following links or contact them at:
